"One in a hundred"

More than 90 percent of couples in Denmark decide to undergo an abortion if their child risks being affected by Down’s Syndrome. Photographer Mario Wezel captures moments from the life of five-year-old Emmy, whose prenatal test showed a risk of 1:800.

"Maggie"

“Maggie” is a series of photographs by Sara Leckowicz. This series is about a woman called Maggie, a victim of domestic abuse.

"One day in history"

Finnish photographer Andrea Gjestvang portrays survivors of the massacre in the Norwegian island Utoya, where a gunman shot 77 people dead.

German photographer Fara Phoebe Zetzsche depicts the life of children who have run away from home because of problems with their parents.

German photographer Lucas Wahls tries to capture life along the Mekong, a 4000 kilometer long river that flows through China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.

Photographer Oscar B. Castillo documents violence in Venezuela, where 16,000 people are murdered every year, according to official figures.

Buzkashi is the national sport in Afghanistan where horseriders fight for a calf or a lamb’s body. Swedish photographer Casper Hedberg captures some scenes.
