Tejoui Jahja is minister for Tourism in Sudan’s Northern State. When I met her, she told me not to worry about the security situation in the country. Yet, on the same day there where crisis talks being held between the North and the South Sudan over oil disputes that are currently heating up.

Mahmoud is First Officer onboard the “Sagenaam” that connects Egypt and Sudan, crossing Lake Nasser once a week. While I was on board, he told me about the origin of the ship.

After arriving in Sudan by boat from Egypt, I sat down for dinner at a small restaurant in Wadi Halfa. That’s where I met Muhammad Ahmad, who told me about his job as a peace builder in Darfur and about his plans for the future. Click to listen in!
