What’s That Mist?
Collins Mkombe is a Zambian who was on his way to visit a friend in Zimbabwe when I asked him to pose with DW’s new logo. He told me that he mainly listens to local and national channels, but sometimes also relies on DW and other international broadcasters for news. He is standing here in front of the mighty Zambezi river. Can you make out the cloud of mist in the background? And do you know which important African landmark is right beneath it? Tell me in the comments or link to the position in Google maps!
A Mountain, Finally!
At the Foot of the Mountain
Mount Kenya is fully covered in mist – so no picture for a Logo Quiz question today. But: can you guess which city I’m staying in that is located northwest of Kenya’s highest peak? It is a lovely little town of roughly 35.000 inhabitants. And it is the place where I just met Jane Mario Wacira. She is a businesswoman who runs a poultry farm and is proud of her achievements. “I am successful and I don’t need a man for that”, Jane says. Remember, it’s International Women’s Day! Jane had more insights: “You need to work harder as a woman in order to go to the top. But that is what we ladies are doing in Kenya.”

How does Jane stay informed? She watches the news every night on TV and reads the papers on weekends. And when staying at friends’ in Nairobi, she also tunes in to DW’s English television program.
The Logo Comes to Town
Takaling, Ermias, Ngusse and Zmadkun have been walking uphill for an hour to enjoy the view on their city. After posing with DW’s new logo, they took a cab to get back again. You can’t see much of the big town that lies below these mountains. But can you guess where we are?
The Logo Quiz, Again!
This time, Temima (center) and her friends (I’m afraid I forgot their names) were so kind as to hold DW’s new logo in front of this beautiful background. Can you guess which mountains we’re talking about here?
